Why DXS® Drive Xchange System™?
The DXS® Drive Xchange System™ was developed for technicians who want the most from their impact guns. DXS® impact tools and equipment allow professionals to configure the drive size and length for optimum power and fit for any demanding task.
What are the benefits of the DXS® Drive Xchange System™?
DXS® eliminates power loss from drive size adapters, anvil extensions, and loose, worn or poorly fitting anvils and impact sockets.
How does the 2236QTiMAX DXS® 1/2" Impact Wrench Compare to the Previous Generation?
The 2236MAX Series Impact Tools are approximately 1/4" shorter, 2 ounces lighter, and 200 ft-lbs stronger than the 2235 1/2" Air Impact Guns.
How did we get more power out of a smaller tool?
A patented cycloidal-shaped motor housing around the rotor and vanes allows for more air to be captured by the vanes as they spin.
How does the 2236 Power Regulator work?
Like all Ingersoll Rand® air impacts, the 2236 power regulator is a forward-only torque regulator. The small dot is the lowest and the large dot is the highest forward power. The tool is always full power (unregulated) reverse.
The regulator significantly reduces the forward torque at the lowest setting to make the tool more useful for low torque when used with the 3/8" Drive (model AH31, sold separately) and for ‘snugging’ tire lug bolts without overtightening.
The forward regulator knob reduces the air flow to the motor rotor by bypassing some incoming air from the supply line directly to the exhaust path.
What type of hammer case is used?
The 2236 Series incorporates a titanium metal hammer case with the same unyielding durability that has made the 2235 Series legendary in surviving the harshest work environments under continuous use, while remaining light weight.
What type of material is used for the tool motor housing?
Tool housings are made from a proprietary grade of chemical resistant, durable composite.
What type of material is used for the Anvil Release Ring, Buttons, and Power Regulator Knob?
The Release Ring, Regulator, and Forward/Reverse buttons are made from a super-tough nylon that is non-marring and can prevent damaging expensive alloy wheels in tire service environments.
What is the process to change DXS® Anvils?
To change DXS® anvils...
As you become more proficient in removing and replacing anvils, it can take less than 10 seconds to change out parts.
How are the DXS® anvils constructed?
DXS® impact anvils are crafted from the same proprietary steel material and time-tested processes as our legacy anvils providing superior reliability when compared to other impact wrenches on the market.
What do I use to release the anvil?
Releasing the anvil does not require a special tool. A small screwdriver, Allen wrench, punch, or pick is most often used by technicians.
What attachments are compatible with DXS®?
How do you grease the tool? There is no fitting on the outside.
The grease fitting is in the bottom center behind the removable anvil. This location channels grease directly onto the anvil lugs and hammers to place grease directly where it is needed most and improves the hammer life.
Is the Anvil Release (red ring) removable / replaceable?
Yes, it snap-presses over a shoulder ring on the titanium part of the hammer case and is easily replaceable if needed.
